J'enseigne le français au lycée Bella Vista, un lycée publique qui se trouve dans une banlieue de Sacramento en Californie. Le lycée a approximativement 2.000 élèves âgés de 14 à 18 ans. On y offre des cours de français, d'espagnol et de japonais comme langues étrangères. Les cours obligatoires sont l'anglais, les maths, l'histoire, et les sciences. On suit aussi des cours de l'éducation physique et sportive pendant deux ans. Hey Nicole, I've seen some corrections on different pages, did you correct all that stuff by yourself?? Or did the students? I really hope you can come to Belgium in February!!!!!!
Oh, no, I didn't correct anything, so that's the students actually taking time to go in on their own and make corrections. In the case of French 3, I asked them two weeks ago to go back and add accent marks to their posts. I'm working on February...the airfare is $1200 (not including luggage)!

Les mêmes 24 heures...mais après avoir regardé tout ce que tu fais en Belgique, j'avais la même question pour toi. On est très semblable toi et moi !
Et j'ai beaucoup aimé tout ce que tu as proposé pour mon séjour...tous ces cours si différents, c'est vraiment fascinant. J'apprendrai au moins autant des étudiants qu'ils apprendront de moi !

I'm trying to plan school stuff (is it correct by the way??) until the holiday...I need your opinion about that week we'll spend together: you'll do your presentation in my English classes on Wednesday, on Thursday, my seniors and juniors might have sth to present to you... as for Friday, how about this: you'd be their teacher for 2 hours (I've got 2h with the seniors and 2h with the juniors): you'd have them speaking, reading or writing about what you feel like (if you bring those tv magazines, that would be a great exercise for a class... but feel free to suggest anything you want....as long as they can practise their English of course...:))
you need to know that the seniors really behave like adults, so you can do anything you feel like with them, but my a lot of my juniors aren't that mature , unfortunately.... so you need to draw their attention all the time...
one thing is certain: they all want to meet you!

School stuff is absolutely right! ☺ Your plan sounds wonderful. I have so many materials I'm bringing and I'll be able to use those for lessons...we may need to make some copies though! Just so you know...I'm still sick, but not with anything contagious. The doctors think it's a really stubborn asthma that isn't responding yet to medication. They've started a much more aggressive treatment, but I've been out of school for a week! I'm planning to be back on Monday. This has really hurt our film production (and my progress in French with my students, etc.). We have some stuff taped, but nothing edited. I'm planning on bringing whatever I'm able to finish for the film on a flash drive since our DVDs won't play there. I'm also bringing the PowerPoint presentation on a flash drive. The PowerPoint is in French so that I can use it with any group, but for the English classes, I will do all the talking in English--I'll be saying a lot more than what is printed on each slide.

J'ai bien parlé à tous mes élèves et ils disent tous qu'ils veulent le faire ("please don't drop me from the wiki!!!"). On verra. Je leur ai donné un devoir d'écrire une lettre à leurs correspondants au sujets de leurs vacances en février. Ils doivent me rendre leurs copies aujourd'hui pour que je marque où il faut faire les corrections. Alors, il me faudra rendre leurs copies pour qu'ils fassent les corrections avant de les afficher sur le wiki. Je ne compte rien afficher avant la fin de la semaine, mais avec la journée d'immersion que j'organise samedi, ça peut être même un peu plus tard.
